The following links provide much helpful information for the beginner as well accomplished digital Terragen artist. Click on the text title and/or pictures below to display the information:

  • 'Texturing in Terragen' by Paul Clavette. Note: Be patient while you download this file since it contains many pictures and text. This tutorial provides an illustrative .pdf document with focus on 'bumpiness' adjustments while developing surfaces for terrains. Paul's work here represents a culmination of more than eighteen months of experiences using Terragen™ to create digital landscape art.

  • This tip comes to us from Kath Salier; aka 'twistednoodle' whose work can be found in the Renderosity Terragen™ gallery. This tip relates to reducing the resources it takes to run Terragen while rendering a picture thereby allowing one to check e-mail and other small tasks. In her own words: "To change the Terragen priority: (assuming you have Windows XP)

    Start rendering your piccy.

Press Ctrl Alt Delete and the task manager will open; select the processes
tab and click on Terragen to highlight; and (you may notice its running at about
99%) right click and change the priority to below normal or low. A warning
box appears saying you "may make something unstable" click OK.

It should render in the background for you - I have to say it only takes
marginally longer when you do this. You have to change the priority each
time you render as it resets itself.
    "
